Is It Time to Replace Your Tires?
One of the most important parts of your vehicle is the tires. They literally carry you everywhere. It’s very important that you check on your tires regularly and keep them in good, safe working condition. You should check the tire pressure regularly and also look for holes, damage, or other poor conditions in your tires. While you may want to avoid the costs, it’s very important you replace your tires when needed, or it can lead to very serious accidents.
Here are some things to check on:
- How old are your tires? Old tires are dangerous, even if they look like they still have tread. When tires age, the rubber breaks down. You may even be able to see cracks in it. This makes it much easier to have a blow out or other issues on the road.
- Is your tread worn? If you’re not sure how much tread should still be on your tires, you can ask when you bring your vehicle in for servicing. Tires without proper tread will not grip the road how they are supposed to. This is especially dangerous in wet or cold conditions, but can be dangerous at any time.
- Does your tire have bumps or bubbles? Bubbles in your tire often happen from hitting a pothole or curb. They damage the integrity of the tire and make it more likely to have a blowout. Even if your tire is new and has good tread, it needs to be replaced if you have a bubble in it.
