Jeeps are so much fun to go off road with but sometimes the mess can be a little challenging afterwards. If you have ever wondered how to get that Jeep clean and back in order after taking it off road, East Hills Jeep has you covered. There are a few off road basics that will ensure that you keep your Jeep in tip top shape. It is important to check and clean a Jeep after muding.
How to Clean a Jeep after mudding
Wash and Vacuum – Once you have been off road, you are going to want to clean your Jeep inside and out to make sure that all the crud has made it off of the vehicle. It may not seem harmful but it really can be. The undercarriage definitely needs some tending to after going off road, so make sure to spray that off. Sometimes the engine can even get some mess on it, so lift that hood and spray it off really well.
Check The Tires – Your tire pressure may have gone down while you were on the trail and so you need to make sure that it is properly back where it needs to be when you head back out on the road. You will also want to check the lug nuts to make sure that those are still tight after you have been off road.
Check The Differential & Transmission – I know that this may not seem like it would be super important, but you don’t know what kind of stress it was under. You will need to check both of these to see if there is any damage or leaks.
Check The Shocks – Your shocks put in some major work when you are off roading, so you need to check these to make sure that they are still good to go. This includes checking for dents and leaks in them. \
Dust Off Those Brakes – Make sure that you have cleaned off those brakes from any crud or mud that may have gotten into them while you were on your adventure. You don’t want those brakes going out on you when you get on the road again.
There are other parts and things that you would need to check if you were seriously into off roading all the time, but these are just the basics to make sure that you get all the muddy mess off the inside and out of the vehicle. Also, making sure that your tires and brakes are still in good working order. They are what make you go and also stop when you need to, so super important! Have fun off roading and mudding but make sure to take proper care afterwards.
