My daughter is begging to go to Washington, DC. We are hoping to make the trip this summer. With a family this big, we always make sure that the trips are fun, and as free as possible. Here is a list of things that are free things to do in Washington DC. Lustine Chrysler Dodge Jeep knows that visitors and locals want to be able to have fun without breaking their budget.

Planning a trip to Washington DC? Here are some free things to do in Washington DC that the whole family will love during your trip.

Free Things to Do in Washington DC

National Zoo: The National Zoo is free to enter. There are nearly 2000 animals to see at the zoo. There is a fee to see the Pandas and their cubs.

Take a walking tour of the National Mall by DC by Foot. It is a kid-friendly tour that includes lots of games, fun facts and trivia that keep kids engaged. There are tours for the Arlington Cemetery Walking Tour, the Lincoln Assassination Walking Tour and the Ghosts of Georgetown Tour.

Enjoy a Drum Circle in Meridian Hill Park on Sunday afternoons. This famous drum circle has been taking place in this park for 40 years. Feel free to join in.

Visit the National Air and Space Museum. Check out the America by Air exhibition that is on permanent display and see the Boeing 747.

Visit the Rock Creek Park at the Nature Center and Planetarium. There are free programs to attend each week.

On Saturday Morning at the National Theatre has free performances that the whole family will love. The shows change each week but include shows like puppetry, music, magic and ballet. Seating is limited but people are able to reserve tickets starting from one week before the show.

Get kids excited about a lesson in freedom with the National Archives to see the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.

The National Gallery of Art has concert that are first-come first served basis. The concerts feature a wide variety of performances from acapella singers, painists, opera music and orchestras.

Everyday at 6pm, on the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage there is a free performance. These performances include everything from performances by the National Symphony Orchestra to poetry slams.
