My son has a very old car. He doesn’t do anything else besides put gas in it. Needless to say, he finds that his car breaks down very often. Because he doens’t do any kind of maintenance.
As you may already know, your vehicle requires maintenance. Whether it’s a brand new car, or one you’ve had for a while, it’s important to take care of it properly. This will ensure you get the most from it, and that it lasts you a long time and keeps you safe while you’re using it.
Car Maintenance Tips for All Year Round
Here are some car maintenance tips for all year round that you should consider:
- Check your oil and have it changed regularly – If you can’t change the oil yourself, be sure to take it in to be changed on time. Nothing destroys an engine faster than avoiding proper oil levels and fresh oil changes.
- Make sure other fluids are good – You also need to have your other fluids checked. Flush the cooling system and change the coolant once a year (or take it in to have it done). You should also check the transmission fluid.
- Take care of your tires – You need to keep proper air pressure in your tires (especially in the winter when cold weather can make pressure go down) and also check for wear and tear on the tires themselves.
- Keep it clean – You should also keep your car clean inside and out. A coat of wax will keep the paint clean and make it easier to wash. Vacuuming and cleaning inside regularly also keeps it looking nice and helps it retain value.
Now that you know how to take care of your vehicle, there’s nothing left but to do it. If you have any questions about this, or about a new car, just reach out to the wonderful people at Chuck Patterson Dodge. I know they are happy to help!
